With Restylane, an injectable gel containing hyaluronic acid as the active ingredient, we are able to place
the moisture back into our skin, resulting in a smoother appearance.

What is the procedure like at Revive Medical Aesthetics?
Comfort first
At the start of the procedure, the patient may receive some topical anesthetic cream applied to the area of
treatment. However, the procedure causes minimal pain as a very fine needle will be administered.
Targeted injections
The Restylane filler will then be injected into the targeted areas of the skin in small amounts, ensuring
proper distribution of the product under the skin.
Quick treatment
The procedure is quick, usually ranging from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the area being treated,
and involves no downtime.

This allows patients the flexibility to receive treatments at a time that works for them, such as a lunch

What are the results of Restylane?
Throughout the course of the next six months, Restylane will continue to gradually increase the volume within
the skin. This gradual increase makes for a significant benefit, revealing long-lasting, natural-looking

After the course of a few months, the hyaluronic acid will be naturally broken down by the body. For this
reason, maintenance treatments in the form of touch-ups are recommended in order to maintain optimal results.

As an added bonus, this also means that Restylane is not permanent and can also be reversed immediately,
should you desire, through the form of another injectable.
Results typically last between 3-6 months, depending on the type of treatment received, however, results are
visible immediately after treatment.

Are there any side effects or risks?
The risks with Restylane are rare and minimal, as the filler’s active ingredient is hyaluronic acid, a
naturally occurring substance found within the human body.
Post-treatment you may experience mild swelling, redness or bruising around the treated area. However, these
side effects should subside naturally within the course of a few hours to a few days.
We recommend minimizing potential side effects before treatment.
We recommend for our patients to refrain from using Aspirin, Vitamin E and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory
drugs, such as Ibuprofen, at least 7-10 days prior to treatment in order to minimize such side effects.
We recommend individuals with an active sinus infection and women who are pregnant or breast-feeding to
postpone treatments.
